Southern Glazer Volunteer to Help Kids

Together We Rise is based in Southern California. But thanks to companies hosting charity events all over the country, we get to volunteer to help kids and improve the lives of children in foster care thousands of miles from our HQ.

Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirit invited us to Miami, Florida to facilitate their Bike Build  service project. So we paid a visit to the Sunshine State to help them make the world a little brighter!

Southern Glazer held the corporate philanthropy event to celebrate exceptional leaders within the company. They chose to host it at a beautiful outdoor venue right on the bay. After the festivities ended we got to work setting up the bikes for the team-building activity.

We divided the 40 volunteers into pairs. All talked, joked, and laughed as they worked together to build bikes. By the end of the night, they built 25 bikes for kids in foster care. Everyone got to bond with their team and meet the people that make Southern Glazer so great.

Miami Resource Center received the donation of 25 bikes and they gratefully accepted the donation; this is the first time they’ve received a donation of bicycles. The Director of Development at Miami Resource said that bikes are one of the best gifts they can give to their kids in foster care. They can use bikes for transportation, exercise, and fun!
