Foster Resource: Social Security Benefits

Foster families today have access to plenty of resources that help cover the costs of taking care of a child. Resources vary from county to county and are meant to help both the child and family. Medical, dental and counseling services tend to be the priority. However, if a child has special needs, one should consider additional care required.
Foster parents of children with disabilities may be eligible for Supplemental Security Income from the SSA. Once families receive the funds, they can then afford the best care for their child.
Social Security benefits are open to people of all ages, with priority given to the families who need it the most.
