Kids For Adoption Through Foster Care

Kids For Adoption

Many people don’t consider how many kids are for up adoption through foster care. During the foster to adopt process, not only does your family expand, but your heart does too as well. It is not flesh and blood that creates a family, but it’s all the love that makes one. Here is Natasha’s story of how her attachment to her children grew quickly with her foster to adopt journey.

Starting the Adoption Through Foster Care Process

Natasha and her husband lived a quiet and simple life, until the day they considered to adopt. After trying for 11 years to get pregnant, Natasha and her husband chose to go through the foster to adopt process. Their adoption journey started in April 2015 and they met their children two months later through foster care. During this time, Natasha knew that she wanted to “keep them forever”. Past all the difficult moments, she knew that she was truly meant to be their mom. She expresses, “I didn’t want to share the title. I didn’t want to be afraid one day I won’t be able to see them. I just wanted to be their world.” Natasha chose to leave her corporate job to be a stay-at-home mom.

Growing Your Family and Community

The best part of the experience for Natasha was getting support from the community of families that are in the same position as she is. She describes the relationship like an “extended family with uncles and aunts. They call and check on the kids and ask how we are doing.” Not only did her family grow, but she also got to know people from all different types of backgrounds because her children are part of a big sibling group of eight kids.

Opening Your Heart

If you are considering fostering to adopt, she advises that “if it’s in your heart, don’t hesitate, go for it. Yes, it’s scary, and yes, it’s hard. Foster care is hard. But you fall in love and this feeling is so huge that nothing can be bigger than that. Nothing in the world matters to me more than my three children.”
