Social workers help people overcome some of life’s most difficult challenges: poverty, abuse, addiction, mental illness, and so much more. They help prevent crises and counsel individuals, families, and communities to cope more effectively with the stresses of everyday life. The National Association of Social Work (NASW) dedicates the month of March to America’s social workers.

Over 650,000 social workers advocate for millions of people every day so they can live a better life. With this in mind, the NASW announced the theme of this year’s Social Work Month as “Weaving Threads of Resilience and Advocacy: The Power of Social Work.

Our nation would be far less successful without the contributions of America’s social workers. So in their honor, Foster Love - Together We Rise would also like to recognize March as Professional Social Work Month. We call upon all citizens to join us in celebration and support of these incredible professionals, from LA to NYC.
