Socktober is Here Again!

Socktober is here again! It is incredible to think that one year ago we launched our first Socktober campaign EVER! It was a great success thanks to our supporters and agency partners nationwide.

What is Socktober?

Some of you may be wondering, what in the world is Socktober? Well, let us tell you more about it. Socktober is a movement started to support people in need within our community. Many homeless shelters and nonprofits have participated in sock focused events for years.

Foster Love - Together We Rise decided to join this movement last year thanks to a generous in-kind donation from our friends at Bombas. They gave us 45K socks for children in foster care across the country.

Now What Happens with the Socks?

Similarly to last year, we have 45k Bombas socks to give out. During our sock focused October, we ask our supporters to help cover the cost of shipping. For every dollar donated, we are able to ship out one pair of brand new socks to a child in foster care.

This may not seem like a lot but when you consider that most children enter foster care with only the clothing on their backs. These socks can mean a lot.

There are three ways you can help Foster Love - Together We Rise with Socktober. The first is by simply making a donation here. Any amount will help tremendously and we want to thank you in advance for even considering getting involved.

The second way is to sign up for our COVID safe volunteer event at our Brea office.

The third way you can help is by sharing our emails and social posts with your friends and family.

We sincerely can not thank you enough for helping children in foster care. They need everyone’s support and as things continue with COVID, it is more important than ever to stay involved.
